Storm Damage, Spring 2017

In the Spring of 2017, a powerful wind gust toppled the largest tree in the forest. This pin oak knocked down several smaller trees when it fell, and left a large gap in the tree canopy. The trees fell next to the Forest Classroom. We then needed to reroute the path around the fallen giant, and several parents and students assisted in this project. We will study the changes resulting from this event for many years.
