The Garden at Mill Road

Mission

The purpose of the Garden Classroom at Mill Road is to provide and promote a dynamic, inviting, engaging and instructive outdoor classroom for the education and pleasure of our students. Specifically, we seek to provide a living laboratory for hands-on learning experiences across the curriculum that supports the mastery of the educational standards; moreover, we hope to teach children about healthy food, eating habits, growing food and to help children develop a deeper appreciation for their environment, their community, and one another. Finally, the garden classroom is meant to promote meaningful outdoor activity, and to foster cross-grade relationships and connections to the wider community.
